3-Day Tour: Amazon Jungle Adventure – Puerto Maldonado, Colpa Chuncho, and Tambo Pata Inn

Day 1: Arrival in Puerto Maldonado and Jungle Tour

Your adventure begins with a warm welcome at the Puerto Maldonado airport or bus terminal. From there, you will travel in a 4×4 vehicle to the Tambopata River, where you will board a boat to navigate through the Amazon jungle. Along the way, you can spot capybaras, birds, turtles, and caimans. Upon arrival at Tambo Pata Inn, you will enjoy a hike through the Tambo Pata Reserve and an exciting night tour to spot caimans, jaguars, and other local wildlife.

Day 2: Macaw Clay Lick and Sport Fishing

After an early breakfast, you will navigate the Tambopata River to the famous Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick, where you will witness the breathtaking spectacle of macaws and other birds consuming clay. Following this, you will explore more of the reserve’s biodiversity and enjoy a night walk through the jungle, observing insects, tarantulas, and nocturnal monkeys.

Day 3: Return to Puerto Maldonado and Meeting with Local Communities

On your final day, you will enjoy breakfast before heading back to Puerto Maldonado, making stops at local communities such as Lake Condenado and Tres Chimbadas, where you will learn about local culture and their natural surroundings. The tour will end in the afternoon, when you will be transferred back to the airport or terminal to continue your journey.

Day 1: Arrival in Puerto Maldonado and Adventure Tambopata Jungle Tour Macaw.

Your journey begins when you are greeted at the Puerto Maldonado airport or bus terminal, where you will be transferred to our office in the Plaza de Armas to begin your excursion through the Peruvian jungle.

From here, you will board a comfortable 4×4 vehicle for a 50-minute ride through breathtaking tropical landscapes until you reach the port on the Tambopata River.

Aboard an outboard motorboat, you will navigate upstream, deep into the heart of the Amazon jungle. During the journey, you will enjoy spectacular views as you approach your destination:

the Colpa Tambo Pata Inn, a lodge surrounded by lush nature. Along the way, you may spot capybaras, birds,

turtles, and caimans, and savor a delicious lunch. Afterward, a guided hike through the Tambo Pata Reserve awaits,

where you will discover the  incredible biodiversity of the region: giant trees, vines, and medicinal plants, while encountering capuchin monkeys and squirrels.

The excitement continues with a night excursion, where you will have the chance to spot spotted caimans and, if

you’re lucky, the elusive black and white caimans.

The next destination is the famous Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick, a unique place where you can witness one of nature’s

most impressive spectacles: large flocks of macaws, parrots, and parakeets gathering to consume clay, a vital process for their digestion and detoxification.

After this natural display, you will enjoy breakfast and continue navigating the river toward the Tambo Pata Inn lodge.

will take a night walk to discover the jungle’s life in the darkness: insects, tarantulas, frogs, and even nocturnal monkeys.

You will return to the lodge to rest in comfortable rooms with mosquito nets, showers, and private bathrooms.

Day 3: Return to Puerto Maldonado and Meeting with Local Communities

On the final day, you will enjoy an early breakfast before departing for the port to return to Puerto Maldonado.

During the journey, we will make stops in local communities, such as Lake Condenado and the Tres Chimbadas,

where you can interact with the natives, learn about their culture, and explore more of their natural surroundings.

As you approach Puerto Maldonado in the afternoon, the tour will come to an end. We will transfer you back to the

bus terminal or airport, so you can continue your journey, taking with you unforgettable memories of the incredible Amazon jungle.
