Itinerary for Natural Natural Peruvian Rainforest Amazon 3 days.
Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Lake Sandoval – Canopy Tower – Sunset Experience – Night Caiman Spotting
Arrival at the bus station or airport, pick-up and transfer to the main office, where we will check in and leave our belongings before starting the adventure to sandoval lake Lake Sandoval Tours.
We head to the main port to board a motorized boat and begin our journey along the Madre de Dios River. Along the way, we admire birds, turtles, and caimans basking in the sun on the
riverbanks. We arrive at the checkpoint of the Lake Sandoval Reserve for the required registration. Afterward, we begin a 3-kilometer walk through the Amazon rainforest toward a small dock,
where we board a wooden paddle canoe to navigate a winding, zigzag-shaped stream. After approximately 20 minutes of rowing, we reach Lake Sandoval, one of the most biodiverse and scenic
lakes in the Peruvian Amazon. We paddle across the lake for about one hour, fully immersed in the surrounding natural beauty. We then arrive at our lodge, located right on the lake’s edge, where
we settle into our comfortable private rooms.
A traditional Amazonian lunch awaits us, featuring local flavors and ingredients. After lunch, we head to the 20-meter-high canopy tower, offering
breathtaking panoramic views of the Amazon jungle. From this vantage point, we can observe a wide variety of bird species such as macaws, toucans, and raptors, as well as monkeys leaping
through the treetops and other incredible Amazon wildlife. This birdwatching experience in the heart of the jungle offers a rare and unforgettable connection with the region’s rich biodiversity.
As the day ends, we return to the lodge. The sunset over Lake Sandoval is a magical moment—when the sun dips below the thick rainforest, the sky is painted with shades of red, orange, and gold,
creating a vibrant rainbow of colors over the lush green canopy. After nightfall, we embark on a fascinating night tour for caiman spotting. This guided nocturnal excursion allows visitors to safely
explore the mysterious side of the Amazon and witness the wildlife that emerges under the cover of darkness.
Day 2: Macaw Palm Clay Lick – Mud Bath – Sport Fishing – Primary Forest Hike – Night Walk
We will wake up at 5:00 a.m. to begin an exciting excursion to the palm clay lick, where visitors can observe macaws, parrots, and parakeets descending in large flocks to feed on the fruit. Clay

We wake up at 6 a.m. to search for giant river otters. These charismatic Amazonian mammals usually move in family groups of up to 12 individuals as they hunt for food. Giant otters are social and
curious animals that, in some protected areas, have learned to coexist closely with human presence. Thanks to their playful behavior and natural confidence, it’s possible to capture spectacular
wildlife photographs without disrupting their routines. We return to the lodge. After a delicious breakfast, we pack our belongings and begin our boat ride back to the checkpoint. From there, we
navigate upstream in a motorized boat, enjoying the beautiful riverside scenery as we head toward Puerto Maldonado. In the city, we collect our luggage from the office and transfer to the airport
or bus terminal, concluding this unforgettable Amazon experience—a truly breathtaking journey.

If you wish to leave in the afternoon, lunch is not included.
There are direct buses from Puerto Maldonado to Puno and Arequipa.
