Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Lake Sandoval

Tour Itinerary – Sandoval Lodge (4 Days)
Day 1: Arrival in Puerto Maldonado & Sandoval Lake Excursion

Day 2: Sunrise & Wildlife Trekking The Wildlife Adventure Jungle .
Start early to witness sunrise over Lake Sandoval — a prime time for viewing otters and birds like kingfishers, tiger herons, and hoatzins, a distinctive prehistoric-looking species.
After breakfast, hike through primary rainforest and towering Brazil nut trees, keeping an eye out for sloths, toucans, and capuchin monkeys. In the afternoon, visit monkey habitats, including groups of squirrel and howler monkeys.
After dinner, embark on a nighttime expedition to discover nocturnal wildlife in the Amazon.

Day 3: Macaw Palm Clay Lick – Amazon Medicinal Plants – Sunset Experience
On this day, we will wake up very early to visit the Palm Tree Clay Lick, where we will observe three species of macaws, along with parakeets and parrots. These colorful birds arrive at dawn to feed
on the fruit of the aguaje palm, which is rich in phytoestrogens, vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin C, unsaturated fatty acids, and beta-carotenoids. After this amazing wildlife experience, we return to
the lodge for breakfast.
Later in the morning, we’ll have the opportunity to discover the secrets of Amazonian natural medicine. During a guided jungle walk, we will learn about plants with healing properties, such as:
Palm ginger, traditionally used as an anti-inflammatory, Cinchona tree, whose bark has played a vital role in the treatment of malaria, and many other medicinal species used by indigenous
communities. We will also visit a botanical garden, where some of these valuable plants are cultivated for conservation purposes. In the afternoon, we’ll explore the remotest part of the jungle, on
the north shore of the lake, where you can enjoy an unforgettable Amazon sunset surrounded by pristine nature.
Day 4: Farewell to the Jungle
Take one last morning canoe ride through the palm swamps, hoping for a final glimpse of the otters and morning birds. After breakfast, return by boat to Puerto Maldonado for transfer to the airport.
Take with you a heart full of memories and a camera full of amazing Amazonian moments.
