Day 1: Cusco to Pilcopata – Andean Highlands to Cloud Forest
Begin your journey in Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire. Depart early to visit the pre-Inca chullpas (funerary towers) of Ninamarca, built by the Lupaca people.
Continue to the colonial town of Paucartambo, then ascend to the Tres Cruces viewpoint (3,900 m / 12,800 ft), famous for its spectacular Amazon sunrise. When conditions are right, the sky and mist merge in a breathtaking natural display.
