welcome. We’ll head to our local office for a short orientation and to securely store any large luggage—you’ll bring
only what’s needed for the jungle expedition.
We then travel to the port, where a motorized canoe will carry you along the Madre de Dios River, one of the main
tributaries of the Amazon, toward the entrance to Sandoval Lake Tours .
After a 30-minute ride, you’ll begin a scenic 3 km (1.8-mile) jungle walk—an ideal chance to spot tropical birds,
butterflies, and fascinating native plants. At a narrow waterway, you’ll switch to a paddle canoe and quietly glide
through the flooded forest into the serene Sandoval Lake.
As you explore the mirror-like waters, keep your eyes open for Giant Otters, howler monkeys, and vibrant macaws.
