Itinerary for Natural Natural Peruvian Rainforest Amazon 3 days  – 3 Days

Day 1: Puerto Maldonado to Sandoval Lake .

We begin our journey with a warm welcome at the Puerto Maldonado airport or bus terminal. Once at our main office, we register and leave our belongings to start the adventure at Lake Sandoval Tours. We head to the main port and board an outboard motorboat, navigating the Alto Madre de Dios River. Along the way, we admire birds, turtles, and caimans basking on the banks.

Upon arrival at the control post of the Lake Sandoval Reserve, we complete the necessary formalities and begin a 3

km hike to the small port, where we board a boat to navigate through a zigzagging canyon. After 20 minutes, we

reach Lake Sandoval and paddle across the lake for about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

We then arrive at our lodge and settle into our respective private rooms. We enjoy a typical local lunch.

In the afternoon, we explore the lake by canoe, spotting Giant River Otters, Black Caimans, birds like the hoatzin,

herons, cormorants, and kingfishers. Back at the lodge, we have a delicious dinner and venture out on a night excursion to observe caimans and other nocturnal species.

Day 2: Palm Tree Clay Lick and Virgin Jungle

After an early breakfast, we paddle a canoe to the Palm Tree Clay Lick, a natural sanctuary where macaws and

parrots gather to feed on the nutrient-rich fruits of these aquatic palm trees. We return to the lodge for lunch and

then explore the virgin jungle, observing a variety of species such as monkeys, sloths, insects, and more. We admire impressive Brazil nut trees and discover important medicinal plants.

In the afternoon, we paddle to a strategic point to enjoy a spectacular sunset over the lake. As night falls, another

session of caiman spotting offers a unique glimpse into the nocturnal life of the Amazon Peruvian .

Day 3: Return to Puerto Maldonado – Natural Peruvian Rainforest Amazon .

After a final morning walk and a delicious breakfast, we pack up and paddle back to the control post.

From there, we navigate upstream in an outboard motorboat, enjoying the riverside scenery as we head back to Puerto Maldonado.

In the city, we collect our luggage from the office and proceed to the airport or bus terminal to conclude this memorable Amazonian experience.
