Day 1 | Puerto Maldonado – Madre de Dios River – Monkey Island
Upon your arrival in Puerto Maldonado, our staff will welcome you at the airport, bus terminal, or your hotel. From there, we’ll board a motorized boat and navigate along the Madre de Dios River to our jungle lodge.
During the boat ride, you’ll have your first opportunities to spot tropical birds, capybaras, turtles, and caimans along the riverbanks.
After lunch, we’ll visit the famous Monkey Island, home to several species of monkeys living freely in their natural habitat.
Later in the afternoon, enjoy an introductory rainforest walk with your guide. In the evening, you may join an optional night walk to discover insects, frogs, spiders, and other fascinating nocturnal creatures.
Day 2 | Sandoval Lake & Tambopata National Reserve
After breakfast, we’ll head to the Tambopata National Reserve to explore the spectacular Sandoval Lake.
A scenic hike of approximately 3 km (1.9 miles) leads us through pristine rainforest before reaching the lake, where we’ll board a canoe to explore one of the Amazon’s most beautiful ecosystems.

In the afternoon, we’ll return to the lodge to relax before another exciting night walk through the rainforest.
Day 3 | Canopy Walkway, Zipline & Amazon Fishing
Today is all about adventure :We’ll explore interpretive rainforest trails where you’ll discover towering ancient trees, medicinal plants, and unique Amazonian vegetation.
Next, we’ll climb the Canopy Walkway Tower and cross a suspension bridge stretching approximately 200 meters (656 feet) above the forest floor, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the rainforest canopy.
The adventure continues with an exhilarating zipline ride above the jungle.
Later in the afternoon, we’ll enjoy traditional Amazon fishing, trying our luck catching piranhas and catfish in a nearby river.
Day 4 | Kayaking, Native Community & Amazon Experience
After breakfast, we’ll visit a local indigenous family to learn about their traditions, customs, and handmade crafts.
Later, enjoy a peaceful kayaking excursion along the Madre de Dios River, where you’ll observe birds and wildlife from a unique perspective.
As night falls, we’ll embark on an exciting caiman-spotting excursion, searching for nocturnal wildlife along the riverbanks.
Day 5 | Return to Puerto Maldonado & Airport Transfer
After breakfast, we’ll travel back by boat along the Madre de Dios River to Puerto Maldonado.
