Day 1: Arrival and Journey to Lake Sandoval Reserve

Your unforgettable Amazon adventure begins as you arrive in Puerto Maldonado. Upon arrival at the airport or
bus terminal, you’ll be greeted by our friendly team and transferred to our office for a quick registration and luggage drop-off.

From there, a boat ride across the Madre de Dios River awaits. This 45-minute tranquil journey offers the chance to spot a variety of wildlife, including herons, jacanas, ducks, and even caimans sunbathing on sandbanks.

Upon reaching the checkpoint of Lake Sandoval Reserve, we’ll complete registration before embarking on a 3 km
hike through dense rainforest to our lodge, nestled on the shores of the pristine lake.

Our eco-lodge, powered by solar energy, offers cozy private rooms with stunning views of the Amazon jungle.

In the afternoon, join us on a nature walk around the lodge, where you’ll discover ancient trees, medicinal plants,
and vibrant orchids.

As the sun sets, get ready for a thrilling night canoe ride where we’ll search for caimans in the darkness. With only
flashlights guiding us, we’ll spot these elusive nocturnal reptiles, some reaching lengths of up to 5 meters.

Day 2: Lake Sandoval Peru -Exploring the Palm Tree Clay Lick and Primary Forest

Rise early for a unique experience at the palm tree clay lick. At dawn, we’ll head out to witness colorful macaws and
parrots feeding on the nutrient-rich clay and fruits, a breathtaking scene you won’t soon forget.

After this, we’ll return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast before embarking on an exciting canoe ride around Lake Sandoval.

Glide through the calm waters as we spot wildlife like white herons, monkeys, turtles, and possibly even a puma.After lunch, enjoy an afternoon hike through the primary rainforest, marveling at towering mahogany and cedar trees, and discovering the rich biodiversity of the jungle.

From medicinal plants to unfamiliar insects and birds, the forest is alive with wonders.

As evening falls, we’ll set off on a night walk to witness the jungle’s nocturnal creatures, including tarantula spiders,
fireflies, and the elusive night monkey.

Return to the lodge to share your experiences over a delicious dinner before resting for another exciting day ahead.

Day 3: Wildlife Encounters and Jungle Adventures

Start your day with an early morning boat ride to see giant river otters and various bird species coming to the lake’s edge in search of food.

Watch in awe as these creatures interact in the early hours of the Amazon, creating a magical moment in the wild.
After breakfast, we’ll head to a scenic lookout where you can observe an array of bird species, including caracaras

and rufous-breasted species, as you take in stunning panoramic views of Lake Sandoval.

Afterward, enjoy some downtime in the hammocks or join us for a fishing expedition.
Take in the serenity of the lake before cooling off with a refreshing swim.

As the day draws to a close, capture the perfect sunset photo over the tranquil lake. Later, prepare for your final
jungle night walk, where we’ll explore the wonders of the jungle at night, from insects to larger animals, rounding

Day 4: Return to Puerto Maldonado

After your final breakfast in the Amazon, it’s time to say goodbye to the jungle. We’ll navigate the Madre de Dios
River back to Puerto Maldonado, where you’ll be transferred to the airport or bus terminal, concluding your

incredible journey through one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.

Day 1: Arrival in Puerto Maldonado – Gateway to the Rainforest

Your journey begins with a warm welcome at the Puerto Maldonado airport or bus terminal.

After a short stop at the tour operator’s office for a final briefing and to safely store excess luggage, we venture deep into the jungle.

A 4×4 vehicle takes us 50 km to the Tambopata River Port, where your Amazon adventure truly begins.

As we cruise by boat along the Tambopata River, watch for vibrant birdlife, sunbathing turtles, and even elusive caimans.
Upon arriving at our jungle lodge, enjoy a hearty lunch and settle into your private room.

Day 2: Photography in Peru Amazonia – Macaws in Flight – A Photographer’s Dream

kind in the world. After a peaceful 1.5-hour boat ride, you’ll photograph hundreds of parrots and macaws as they

gather at the mineral-rich clay banks. Their kaleidoscope of colors and cacophony of calls provide perfect subjects for unforgettable photos.

Back at the lodge, enjoy a relaxed breakfast and some leisure time. In the afternoon, we’ll visit a botanical garden teeming with medicinal plants, rare fruits, and towering rainforest trees.

After breakfast, we return to Puerto Maldonado and settle into a new eco-lodge along the Madre de Dios River.
Recharge with a refreshing Amazonian fruit juice before a two-hour hike with a naturalist guide.

Capture the textures and patterns of ancient trees and photograph vibrant wildlife including monkeys, toucans, and oropendolas.
In the afternoon, we cross the river to Monkey Island, where playful troops of capuchins and tamarins offer outstanding photo opportunities.

Day 5: Sunrise from the Canopy – Farewell, Amazon

Our final morning begins with a short walk to a canopy bridge, suspended 30 meters above the jungle floor. As the

As you cruise the river, keep your camera ready—unusual birds and mammals such as capybaras and caimans often rest along the riverbanks. Upon arrival at the lodge, you’ll have time to relax and refresh.

Later, we’ll embark on a guided introductory walk through the jungle to learn about the local biodiversity and the story behind Amazon Nature.

Day 2 – Macaw Clay Lick Magic & Nighttime Jungle Walk.

We’ll start early with a light breakfast, followed by a 40-minute boat ride upstream to the renowned “El Chuncho” Macaw Clay Lick.

If weather conditions are favorable, you’ll witness one of nature’s most mesmerizing spectacles: hundreds of parrots and macaws gathering to feast on mineral-rich clay.

A breathtaking landscape surrounds you as you walk along the river beach, searching for animal tracks. After a light snack, we’ll return to the lodge for a well-earned breakfast.

In the afternoon, enjoy some downtime or take part in thrilling activities like canopy walks or tree climbing.
Just minutes from our lodge are the “Cascadas del Gato” (Cat Waterfalls), a natural paradise where you can swim in a jungle jacuzzi. You may also join a fishing excursion on the river.

After lunch, we’ll head out on an ethnobotanical jungle hike to learn about medicinal plants used by local communities.

Day 3 – Deep Jungle Exploration & Madre de Dios River Adventure.

After a delicious breakfast, we’ll set off on a 3-hour journey along the Madre de Dios River to reach a new jungle lodge.
Following a short rest, we’ll venture on a 2-hour hike deep into the heart of the rainforest. Your expert guide will

introduce you to towering trees over 500 years old and an astonishing array of wildlife, including birds, monkeys, and butterflies.

In the evening, we’ll explore the river again in search of caimans—watch for their glowing eyes in the darkness—and may encounter capybaras and other nocturnal creatures. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 4 – Sandoval Lake & Wildlife in the Tambopata National Reserve

After breakfast, we’ll cross to the other side of our eco-lodge to visit Monkey Island, a lush sanctuary where several species of monkeys swing freely through the trees. Watch these agile primates
leap from branch to branch — an unforgettable wildlife encounter.

Next, we’ll head into the heart of the Tambopata National Reserve. A scenic 5-kilometer trek through pristine rainforest will take us to the breathtaking Sandoval Lake, a mirror-like oxbow lake
surrounded by towering palm trees and dense jungle.

This protected lake teems with wildlife: colorful birds, playful monkeys, and slow-moving sloths are common sightings. With a bit of luck, you may even spot the elusive giant river otter or a rare
black caiman, one of the Amazon’s most endangered predators.
